Went For Bass and Ended Up Trout Fishing

After setting up on a nice little run below a small set of riffles, I expecting the tug on my line to yield a nice smallmouth.  Much to my surprise when my hook set turned the fish sideways I saw the telltale buttery yellow that indicates a nice brown trout.

This guy hit a 2.75" Bitsy Tube in a crawfish color.  Too often fisherman fail to realize that trout will hit "bass" lures, especially soft plastics.  Think about it.  If a trout will hit a 6" articulated streamer, what would keep it from hitting a tube or even a 4" Senko style bait.

You would be surprised at the size of some of the browns in this beautiful small stream.

Stealth is of utmost importance.  Why use the long-rod when you can reach them from distance with gear.
