The Sparrow

I have yet to give this fly the respect it deserves.  I love the way it looks, but I don't fish it often.  It has only seen time while fishing ponds for bass, sunfish, and carp, and wow...does it ever come alive.  This fly is another Jack Gartside creation.  He claimed that this fly was often his first choice if he didn't know what to use.  What it is depends on where it is fished in the water column.  It serves as an all-purpose type of fly, and this is why I like it.
Recipe
Hook: 2x or 3x long of your choice
Tail: Pheasant Marabou or Rump Feather
Body: Green hare or any kind you like
Hackle: Pheasant Rump
Head/Collar: Pheasant Aftershaft Feather
